halloween festivities

halloween! halloween is my second-favorite holiday but i was a little bit late getting into it this year. however, chris and i did do some festive activities. first we decorated "spooky" halloween cookies. they're pretty funny so i have to put up some pics.

here you see my plate of cookies. we have a spider web, a plea for "help," a skull, a screaming girl with slime all over her face, a tombstone, an eyeball, and a hanging man.

chris' plate included an evil green vampire, 2 bloodshot eyes, a bat, a jack-o-lantern, and voldemort. because, really, what could be scarier than voldemort?

for the actual holiday chris and i drove down to vegas. chris had to be there for a conference and we thought it would be fun to visit my sister and her family while we were down there. so on halloween we packed up and drove down there. our original plan was go to cara and matt's trunk or treat activity and then to hit the strip on halloween dressed up like pinky and the brain. here i am pre-party:

get it? pinky in all pink? yes, i know we're dorks...

we got there just in time for the trunk-or-treat. it was so good to see cara, matt, and kali! we walked around, played games, and ate hot dogs. mmmm... (blech.) kali was sooo excited to see us!

ok, maybe she had to think about whether or not she was excited....

at the fishing booth kali won a glowstick, which she was thrilled about.

chris had decided last minute that he didn't want to dress up like a nerd so we just made nametags and figured he looked "brain-y" enough. and at the end of the night, chris and i thought it would be more fun to skip the strip and just hangout with cara, matt, and kali. we were tuckered out and wanted to keep it low-key with the fam. but the weekend was just beginning....to be continued...
