new year resolutions

who saw the latest episode of the office? all about new years resolutions going bad. pretty funny stuff. well in honor of that episode, i write this.
i've wanted to post these for a while to keep track of them but never got around to writing this post. so here are my goals for the 2011:

1. have better morning rituals: start each day with 15-30 minutes of yoga, followed by scripture and prayer, breakfast, then shower, etc.... i've been doing this one since the beginning of the year and let me tell you, it is making such a huge difference in the way i feel throughout the day (read: less stressed, more awake and alert, healthier, etc.)

2. be more regular in my nightly scripture and prayer (with myself and with chris)

3. monthly temple attendance 1-2x/month

4. exercise 3-4 times a week. i've been going to a water aerobics class at the rec center 3 times a week so far and it's pretty great. being weightless when pregnant is about the best feeling ever. combine that with the endorphins you get from exercise and it's a killer combo.

5. prepare myself to be a mom. for me this includes signing up and being diligent in practicing for my hypnobabies class and reading 3 baby care or parenting books by june.

6. free sketch daily to improve my drawing skills. my drawing right now is pretty tragic.

7. narrow down my design branding - clearly define the style and focus that i want to go into. this one is coming along slowly and surely. i'm narrowing it down and now trying to decide how my brand will fit into my portfolio design.

8. graduate with a nice portfolio that i am proud of. see above. i need to figure that out, plus enhance some of my boards and then i think i've got this one in the bag.

ok...now i've written them down. now i'm accountable. this is gonna be a great year.

Just had to say I did Hypnobabies with Kate and loved it! Great resolutions :)

I have heard a lot of good things about hypnobabies--my sister-in-law used with two of her births, and loved it. She's planning to certify as a hypno-doula.

I think I might use it too when my time for having babies comes :)

good luck with those, sounds like great resolutions! and i may not be pregnant, but swimming weekly sounds like something i could use right about now.

Hey Sarah-we used hypnobabies with our last birth and it was great! I don't know if you aleady have parenting books in mind, but some of my favorites are "The Baby Book" and "The Pregnancy Book" by William and Martha Sears, and, "The Mothers Almanac" by Marguerite Kelly. Good luck with everything, we are really happy for you!

I was referring to my daughter Kate. I did the homestudy, but that would be awesome to take the class.
