tribute to love

so valentine's day was yesterday. whatever whatever. i wasn't feeling very love-y yesterday but today i am. and i'd like to write a tribute to love.

today i went to church and i saw this hot, young girl primping in front of the bathroom mirror. she was twig skinny, her hair was perfectly curled (you know long, wavy, victoria's secret style), she was wearing through-the-roof stilletos, and i thought, "she looks dang good." and i thought to myself, "you know, when chris and i first got married i used to get all hot whenever we went out anywhere, too. i used to wear my sky-high stilletos, primp in front of the mirror at church, and be thin, too."

but somwhere during these past 6 months of pregnancy i stopped wearing my stilletos. i am no longer skinny (in fact, sometimes i feel more like a giant, waddling penguin). and it's a really good day when i wake up on time to put on my makeup and fully dry my hair before i go to work.

for anyone who has never been pregnant before, you'd be amazed (i was!) at how pregnancy effects you. there are so many changes that your body goes through, most of them less-than-pretty. but that's not the point of this post. the point is, i saw this girl, and i saw myself in the mirror next to her. i could have gotten really sad at that point but that's when i realized, "it doesn't matter. my husband chris still thinks i'm hot, even when i don't have makeup on, don't wear stilletos, or when i have a small watermelon growing steadily larger inside of my belly."

and i realized that that's what love is. it's growing together (in more ways than one), changing together, and being in it together for the long haul. i love my husband and the fact that we're in it together forever is probably the hottest part of it all. happy day-after-valentine's day. here's to eveyone finding the love of their life.

I totally agree girl! And pregnancy is not the only thing that can keep you from primping for hours in the morning. And my husband still thinks I'm hot and loves me no matter what! True love rocks!

Miss ya girl!

Haha, amen to all of that! I am getting larger by the second, I swear, but Patrick seems to love me more than ever :) Thank goodness for true love that sees past all the not-so-cute stuff!
