what are my days looking like as of late?
well...chris and i are trying to help thom sleep through the night. some days it's somewhat successful. some days it's really not.
this quote sums up what i've been feeling lately: ""motherhood brings as much joy as ever, but it still brings boredom, exhaustion, and sorrow too. nothing else will make you as happy or as sad, as proud or as tired, for nothing is quite as hard as helping a person develop his own individuality especially while you struggle to keep your own."
thom has started to roll over - which is great! - but it also poses a problem when he does it when he's trying to sleep. but on the bright side, chris and i have discovered that if we stay in his room for about 15 mins after we put him down and just make sure he doesn't roll onto his tummy, he'll stay asleep. so that's good.
thom has also started to laugh. it makes my day whenever he does. he laughs when we tickle him, and when i do his "bicycle" song and do bicycle legs. he likes being lifted above my head (when i'm doing bench presses with him and pretending he is a spaceship) - hey, i gotta get my workouts in somehow!
he smiles when he sees himself in the mirror. he smiles when we sing and dance. he's started to get really interested in books and other babies. and he loves going to new places and seeing new people. i'm really going to have to start planning more outings for him. what kind of outings are fun with young babies?

i'm also trying to get our new home organized. sheesh, it's crazy. we still don't have a rug for our living area, though i've ordered flor samples and we should be able to order one within about a week! our dining room furniture should be here in a week. thom's room is mostly finished (except hanging art and getting me a rocking chair). and the 3rd bedroom hasn't even been touched. man, i've got a lot of work ahead of me.

but yeah, that's what i've been up to lately. chris' work is going well. he enjoys his 9/80 schedule and so do i! it's great to have every other friday to play together as a family. tomorrow we're talking about going to galveston. something fun will happen for sure...

he is getting so big! He is adorable. Good luck with the sleeping thing. it's a rough few weeks, but it is so, so worth it!! Hope you figure out what works for you and thom!
he is getting so big! and cute as ever. i'm glad things are going well for you down in texas! can't wait to see photos of the house. and aren't the giggles the best? they just get better and better too. :)
Thom is adorable. There is hope for sleeping through the night. But just know that it comes and goes for a while. E was great until he started teething. Now he's back sleeping with us for the second half of the night. But O always sleeps through the night. So... give it three more years (totally just kidding). love you.
