weekend at the thomas house

this past weekend chris was out of town ,visiting the drill site that he's currently working on.  it was also general conference weekend and my dad's birthday, so thom and i decided to take a little road trip.  we drove up for a weekend visit with the (grand)parents.  we had a great time.  i loved being able to have some helpers so i could get some extra sleep in the morning, and thom really seems to love grandma and grandpa thomas.  they have such fun together.  swinging, going on walks, getting airplane rides, and cuddlng... he is rarely put down when we're at the thomas house.
aunt rebekah and thom get along so well.  she is so loving and affectionate with him and he loves all the attention.  this weekend she decided to give him a mohawk.

also recently. thom has discovered his feet.  he grabs them and plays with them, bringing them up to his face.  this is fun during bath time and play time, but can get messy during diaper-changing time!

thom really likes to be involved with everything that's going on.  he likes to be at the same level (or higher) than everyone so he can see everything.  so sometimes i put on a "cooking show" for him when i'm cooking and i narrate everything i'm doing.  i don't know if he really cares, but i tell myself that it's helping him learn to speak and listen.

i also like to take thom on shopping trips.  it gives him new things to look at and he's always smiling at the people in the store.  many people comment on how cute he is and especially how beautiful his eyes are.   yesterday we had a long day shopping for furniture and clothing.  maybe thom was a little overwhelmed...?

thom is growing so fast.  he can now roll from back to tummy and from tummy to back.  when i put him in his boppy he lifts his head and flexes his abs to try to sit up straight.  but if i put him up straight he leans forward and tips over.  so we'll have to work on that one.  he babbles and coos, smiles and laughs, and is quite fun to be around most of the time.  and as far as sleep goes... well it's getting better.  he now sleeps from about 7 to 3, eats, sleeps for a few more hours before he wakes up one more time to eat before morning, and then sleeps til 7 or 8 am.  so i'm still not feeling very rested but we're making progress...

sarah! he is SO STINKIN cute! I do that with luke too- narrate my cooking show. It keeps him interested! And I do think they learn.

He is so darling! I do the same kind of cooking show thing with Emmett. He just babbles and talks right back at me as he is sitting in his bright green bumbo on OUR counter :)
