happy birthday to me!

my younger brother aaron is serving a mission in montreal, quebec. he is also a thoughtful and generous young lad. so anyway...he sent me a birthday package which i received several days ago, in which was a cd by a lady called marie-annick lepine. also enclosed was this sweet little note from my sweet, not-so-little brother:

"happy birthday sarah! this is a folksy quebecois cd. i hope you like it. i talked to a young quebecoise to ask her what i should get you and this was one of her suggestions. sorry it's late, but i love you lots. happy day of naissance. love, elder aaron."

i'm listening to the cd for the first time tonight and let me tell you...i am really digging it. i don't know how he described my musical tastes to this chick from quebec, but she got me pretty much right on. it's mellow, melodic, and quirky. here's a song of hers that fits in the "mellow" category:
