christmas with the savages

pics from our colorado Christmas:

everyone (except you can't see kaity) gathered round for present opening. as you can tell, our little nephew lincoln was the star of the show the whole Christmas holiday. he loved ripping the paper off of all the presents. he couldn't care less about what was in the gifts, though.

after gift opening, the boys all played with their remote-control helicopters. i think that may have been the favorite gift this year. they sure had a good time pelting each other with their helicopters and getting them stuck in the tree.

another favorite activity of mine was visiting the "teacup house." (it's actually on tincup street, but it's more fun to call it the former.) i don't know if these pictures do it justice, but this house is CRAZY! it is the most lit-up house i've ever seen. it's just a few blocks away from where chris' parents live. here it is in a wide shot. pretty amazing.

dad savage, kaity, and chris in the thick of it.

so you get an idea of the scale of this thing: this nutcracker is in front of the garage. it's as tall as the garage door!

and each window is lit up with a Christmas wonderland scene. this one has a merry-go-round in it with Christmas horses and riders.

a life-size Father Christmas. this one was a little spooky, if you ask me.

my other favorite things we did: saw sherlock holmes (i highly recommend it!), ate at good times (my favorite burger joint), went caroling to the neighbors, played lots of balderdash (that got pretty hilarious) and went sledding! what a marvelous Christmas holiday!
kaity and chris, all ready to go sledding
